Yesterday at Cheesecake Factory, while we were waiting to be seated, I stood under a little palm tree so that the branches were hanging down in my face, just like that! I told the kids, who were looking embarrassed for me, that I was hiding. They said it didn't work. I told them about how little kids will cover their eyes and think no one can see them.
My problem isn't so much hiding, as far as I know, but it is not seeing. I am learning that just because I pretend something isn't there doesn't mean it isn't.
Where could I go from Your Spirit? Or where could I flee from Your presence? If I ascend up into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol (the place of the dead,) behold, You are there.
If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me and the night shall be (the only) light about me, Even the darkness hides nothing from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and light are both alike to You.
My frame was not hidden from You when I was being formed in secret (and) intricately and curiously wrought (as if embroidered with various colors) in the depths of the earth (a region of darkness and mystery.) Psalm 139:7-8, 11-12, 15 Amplified
Dear Sultana, Don't let them fool you! Of COURSE you're invisible when your eyes are hidden! After all, we are the center of the universe, and if we can't see them ... well, they clearly cannot see us! They may pretend otherwise, but we know better! My mama (Elsi) was quoting that psalm about "where can I go from Your Spirit" as she read the post about you. And then she wandered on to 1 Peter 4:9—"... declare the praises of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light!" People are funny ... your friend and co-plotter, Dolphin

There is great comfort for me in that thought.

My favorite psalm...thanks, Pam.
Kay, it occurs to me that, if I'm trying to hide, then I can't see, can I?
I like that Sullie has finally been humbled. Maybe someday we'll actually be able to pet her without losing a hand.
